High Purity Inert Alumina Ceramic Ball (Al2O3: 99%-A) as Supporting Catalyst Medium for Reactor Column
>> Inert catalyst carrier's Introduction
Chemshun A-99 alumina ball 99% is composed of greater than 99% alpha alumina and lower than 0.25wt% SiO2 .its high-alumina content, low silica and high strength make this product ideal for high-temperature and steam applications, such as secondary reformers in ammonia processing, where leached silica can coat downstream equipment or foul the catalyst bed.
>> Inert catalyst carrier's Character
> Alpha alumina structure,High purity,low silica;
> Excellent thermal and mechanical shock resistance properties;
> Excellent chemical stablility with strong resisting of acid,alkaline and organic impregnant;
>> Inert catalyst carrier's Application
As the covering or supporting catalyst medium of reactor column,inert catalyst carrier increase the distributing area of liquid or gas and protect well the active catalyst.It is widely used in the industry of petroleum,chemical, fertilizer, natural gas etc.For example:the ammonia producing,methyl alcohol and hydrogen producing,abstraction of naphtha.

>> How to install inert Ceramic balls?
Prior to loading Chemshun inert ceramic ball support media, the equipment should be inspected and any othe material should be removed. Grid supports, collectors, or diffusers should be inspected to make certain they are firmly secured. Inspect for any gaps or holes and repair before loading any support media. As well, any particles or fines lodged in the grid or support screen should be removed to avoid abnormal pressure drop in the unit or channeling of the gas stream.
The Chemshun support media may be loaded by means of buckets, chutes, socks, or telescopic sleeves. Free fall of the media should be limited to less than two feet. As loading continues, the media should be periodically leveled for even distribution. Physical handling of the support media during loading should be kept to a minimum. Inspection should be conducted after the first ten to fifteen percent of the support media has been loaded to verify that no breakage of spheres has occurred.
